No splashy videos for you!

January 24th, 2008

Apparently, YouTube rejected the bath video and flagged it as inappropriate content. We took meticulous care to make sure the video didn’t reveal any nether regions, but apparently babies in baths get filtered into the “nudity and/or exploitation” bin. At first I got mad and started flagging other videos of babies in baths or bare chested men, but it didn’t really make me feel better. So, alas you will have to just picture a splashy baby getting water all over the walls and blowing bubbles in the water. Sorry.

You don’t need no stinkin’ YouTube. You can generate your own flash video FLV files and host the video yourself (just like adding an image to your posts). Check it: JW FLV MEDIA PLAYER 3.14

It’d true we could do that, but considering the effort it takes just to get the posts up these days, that seems like a lot of work. I could also use another video hosting service like Vimeo or Blip.tv. I also don’t want to have to fear being labeled a child pornographer for taking some harmless naked baby photos.

Its so wrong that you can’t post innocent videos of you child. This is soooo wrong like blocking breasts pictures from web searches that are really content about preventing breast cancer. I’d be happy to convert your videos to flvs for you. Also its easy to install a WP plugin that embed the flv player for you.

Or breastfeeding videos! Thanks for the offer of help, but we’re using mephisto. Anyway, there are tons of baby bath videos on youtube. I think what did ours in was tagging it with “baby bathtime bath”. I always forget to tag, damnit, why this one?
